Here is a interview with Chris from The Columbus Dispatch (Ohio). They talk about being labeled emo and where his music is going.

Chris Carrabba, the lead singer of Dashboard Confessional, is many things: heavily tattooed, popular among the teenage MySpace crowd and charming in interviews.

The 31-year-old insists that “emo” isn’t one of them.

The label, meaning “emotional,” has remained attached to the musician since he broke through in 2002 with Screaming Infidelities, a hit single from the solo album The Places You Have Come To Fear the Most.

Carrabba, however, has always associated emo with edgier bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate.

“I thought I was too young to be lumped into their scene,” he said. “But it’s kind of gone away now.”

Carrabba has expanded his sound from the man-with-anacoustic-guitar early stage into a four-piece rock outfit, complete with hooks and power chords, on the new disc Dusk and Summer.

Recently, after a sound check in Nashville, Tenn., the singer took some time to discuss his dedicated fans; a collaboration with his hero, Michael Stipe; and a description for his band.

Hi, I just uploaded the new theme and you’re looking at it. This is actually the Beta testing part.

I am going after the ONE-COLUMN look. I haven’t added the poll, sign-in form, etc, etc… I’m trying to figure out how to put those all in a one column look without stretching the page vertically.

The forums and gallery theme will stay with the same (for now).

The page looks like it should with the following browsers: Opera 9, Firefox 1.5, and Internet Explorer 7. Other versions of Internet Explorer before 7 doesn’t render Transparent PNG images very well so I suggest use another browser for now or wait till 7 goes public.
